In December, 2018 the Surgeon General of the United States announced that vaping has become a national epidemic. Marketed as a safer alternative to cigarettes, vape pens have found their way into virtually every high school in New Jersey, with the potential for devastating results and long term health impairments. In order to educate our students against this pervasive hazard, Harrison Public School participated in Horizon Blue Cross/ Blue Shield's Community Outreach Program. Through interactive presentations offered during Health and Physical Education classes, every student at Harrison High School  was able to explore vaping risks and consequences. Students left the assembly with a clear understanding of the damage that vaping can cause and are now better equipped to say, "No" to this new and alarming trend.
